EdX has just released the newest version of the edX platform on edx.org and edX Edge.

This release includes the following updates.

  • Course team members who have either the Admin or Staff role can now activate or disable certificates for their courses in Studio. Previously, only edX partner managers could activate or disable course certificates. For information about setting up course certificates in courses on edx.org, see Setting Up Course Certificates in the Building and Running an edX Course guide.

  • In Custom JavaScript Display and Grading problems (also called Custom JavaScript problems or JavaScript Input problems), you can now specify a title attribute within the jsinput tag. The value of that title attribute is used as the title on the generated IFrame and typically matches the title tag of the HTML that is hosted within the IFrame. For more information, see Custom JavaScript Display and Grading Problem in the Building and Running an edX Course guide or Custom JavaScript Display and Grading Problem in the Building and Running an Open edX Course guide.

  • Analytics events that reflect course grading actions are now available. These events are emitted when a learner submits a response to a problem, when a course team member rescores a problem or deletes a problem’s state, when a learner’s subsection grade is calculated, and when a learner’s course grade is calculated. For more information, see Grading-Related Events in the EdX Research Guide.

For more information about these and other changes in this release, see the edX Release Notes. You can access the weekly release notes, as well as all of the edX documentation, at docs.edx.org.
