EdX has just released the newest version of the edX platform on edx.org and edX Edge.

This release includes the following updates.

  • The edX video player has been updated to make options for downloading videos, transcripts, and handouts more accessible. For more information, see Watching Videos on the edX Video Player in the EdX Learner’s Guide or Watching Videos on the edX Video Player in the Open edX Learner’s Guide.
  • In discussions, the list of topics and the controls available for adding a new post have been updated for improved usability and accessibility. When you add a new post, the Topic Area list now defaults to the “General” topic if there is a course-wide topic named “General” in the course. For more information about discussions, see Participating in Course Discussions in the EdX Learner’s Guide or Participating in Course Discussions in the Open edX Learner’s Guide.
  • An issue that prevented the background image from being changed in the drag and drop problem type has been fixed. For information about this problem type, see Drag and Drop Problem in the Building and Running an edX Course guide, or Drag and Drop Problem in the Building and Running an Open edX Course guide.

For information about these and other changes in this release, see the edX Release Notes. You can access the weekly release notes, as well as all of the edX documentation, at docs.edx.org.
